What is the Sales & Management Training Program?

Yancey Brothers Caterpillar is seeking candidates to join the Sales and Management Training Program. We are looking for candidates who are motivated to build their sales capabilities in preparation for future sales roles.  This is a great opportunity to get an entry-level role into sales and a pathway to leadership. 

Who We Are Looking For:

We are looking for candidates that have prior experience working/volunteering in sales, retail, management or customer service type roles. Good communication skills, desire to learn and a willingness to listen will be essential for maintaining relationships with your customers and fellow coworkers. You should possess a sense of urgency and desire to provide superior customer service. The ability to work both with a team and independently is essential to this position as well.

What You Will Be Doing:

The Sales and Leadership Training Program includes 3 phases:

Phase I – “Bootcamp”

During Phase I you will go through sales and leadership training to include in classroom training, computer based training. You will have the opportunity to meet with different members of the organization to learn about their roles and responsibilities. You will also be assigned a job that is a temporary assignment but will give you the foundation you need for the next role. Phase I can last between 8 – 12 weeks.

Phase II – SALT Junior Role

The Junior Role is to assist your move into your new role at Yancey Bros. Co. You will be assigned tasks to complete in your new role by your Mentor. The Mentor will help you develop the skills needed to complete your task and eventually the new role successfully. Phase II can last anywhere from 1 month to 6 months.

Phase III – SALT Graduate

Once your manager and Mentor have determined you are ready, you will move on as a SALT Graduate. At this point you are now officially at full time capacity in your new role. This entry level position will be the catalyst to your career at Yancey Bros. Co.

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.

Required Qualifications/Skills:

  • Demonstrated success in prior work/volunteer experience
  • Ability to use judgment and creativity in applying solutions to business concerns
  • High energy, drive and strong work ethic required.
  • Ability to effectively communicate sales, parts, and service solutions over telephone, in person and through technology.
  • Ability to work in a team setting and individually

Preferred Qualifications/Skills:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from a four year college or university or related equivalent experience preferred
  • Long-term interest in future sales and leadership opportunities with Yancey Bros. Co. is preferred.
